BBInternational says it’s raising the bar at this year’s Clinical Lab Expo through the launch of its new handheld reader and group end-to-end IVD assay development solution.
One of the first mobile readers available for the IVD market, BBI’s Novarum Reader uses smartphone-based software, which can be developed to read any lateral-flow test.
Compatible with most popular smartphones currently on the market, the portable technology allows users to test in any location, providing instant access to quantified results, removing ambiguity, and saving time and cost over lab-based testing.
Mobile connectivity allows existing phones to be easily deployed as readers by downloading Novarum’s image-processing technology via app stores and Google Play.
Leigh Thomas, head of sales, commented, “Every lateral flow test is unique. Novarum is a bespoke service which, when customized for a lateral-flow test, creates a handheld reader that provides specific and accurately quantified results in an instant. The connectivity of the reader… separates our [platform] from existing [ones].”
BBI is also inviting customers to join the company on a “journey” at this year’s event. Through strategic investments, including the acquisition of BBI Enzymes in 2007 and SCIPAC in 2010, BBI has created a portfolio of products and services that offer immunoassay manufacturers an end-to-end IVD assay development solution from initial concept through launch.
Visitors will be able to find BBInternational, BBI Enzymes and SCIPAC in the South Hall, at booth 627.
